S.Korea's imported car sale posts double-digit growth in May
South Korea's imported car sale posted a double-digit growth last month on the back of strong demand for German luxury brands, industry data showed Wednesday.
The number of imported vehicles sold here was 23,272 in May, up 19.1 percent from a year ago, according to the Korea Automobile Importers & Distributors Association (KAIDA).

Japan's new car sales fell 44.9 percent in May
New cars sold in Japan (including light vehicles) fell 44.9 percent year-over-year to 28,285 units in May, the eighth consecutive month of decline.
Indian auto companies May sales cowed down by COVID-19
Following a blank slate with nil sales in April, Indian auto companies continued to report slump in monthly sales in May.
The country's largest car maker Maruti Suzuki reported 86.2 percent decline in total sales at 18,539 units in May compared to 1,34,641 units in the same month last year.
Another Indian auto manufacturer, Mahindra too reported a 79 percent decline in total sales to 9,560 units compared to 45,421 units in the same month last year.
Indonesia's car sales slump in April due to COVID-19 pandemic
The number of Indonesia's car sales tumbled in April as the COVID-19 pandemic has been dashing economic activities, an association said on May 12.
Data of the Indonesian Automotive Industry Association showed that the car sales plunged by 60 percent to 24,276 units in April on the monthly basis.
For May, the association's Deputy Chairman Rizwan Alamsjah said the down-ships in car sales are estimated to slow.
